Harlequins Women are delighted to announce that hooker Amy Cokayne has re-signed with the Club ahead of the 2021/22 Allianz Premier 15s season.
25-year-old England international Cokayne has run out 57 times for her country and played a pivotal part in last season’s successes scoring two tries in the Allianz Premier 15s final at Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester as Quins brought silverware back to South West London.
After joining Quins in July 2019, the hooker became an instant fan favourite, featuring 25 times and scoring 11 tries in the Famous Quarters.
Cokayne is excited for the new season to begin and firmly believes that the squad will be ready to go as the Club looks to defend its Allianz Premier 15s title.
After putting pen to paper, Cokayne said: “I’m buzzing to be staying at Quins, coming off the back of last season’s success I’m really excited to see how far we can continue to grow as a group and a programme on and off the field.”
Harlequins Women Head Coach Gerard Mullen is absolutely thrilled to have the Red Roses hooker re-commit to Harlequins as the new season edges closer.
Mullen said:
“Amy is one of, if not the best hooker in World Rugby and I’m absolutely thrilled to have her re-sign with Harlequins ahead of the new season. She is someone who is a great leader within the group we have at Quins and drives standards each and every day. It was clear to see the talent she has throughout the whole of last season and especially in the final scoring two vital tries and I just can’t wait to see how far she can develop at Quins as a player going forward.”
