Bristol Ladies secured a well-deserved 22 – 36 away victory over Worcester Ladies this afternoon.

Sydney Gregson (3), Amy Wilson Hardy (2) and Rachel Taylor (1) all scored during the game, with Amber Reed (1) and Abbie Brown (2) adding three of the six conversions.

Gregson scored her first on 10 minutes following a period of excellent cross field play, with Wilson Hardy adding her first on 18 minutes. Amber Reed was replaced by Deborah Fleming on 25 minutes, and in the same phase of play Abbie Brown was yellow carded for an infringement during a tackle.

Gregson’s second came on 28 minutes, shortly followed by a superb demonstration of skill by Wilson Hardy who broke through centre field, expertly handing off the waiting defender to score the fourth of the afternoon.

Worcester also scored two during the first half through prop Laura Keates, who led a solid display from the Worcester pack. Ceri Large convered one of Worcester’s tries making the half time score 12 – 26.

The second half saw two tries for each side – again, Worcester utilizing their pack to drive over the line twice, first from Rocky Clark and then Rhiannon Watkins late in the game, however Bristol stayed in front all through the game, with Gregson completing her first hat trick for the club on 50 minutes, and Rachel Taylor connecting with a ball that was kicked through following a turnover for the final score.

Bristol coach LJ Adams was also pleased with the performance all the girls put in ‘This was the first game where we’ve actually played to our full potential. We worked on our attacking play a lot this week, and this showed as our completion was much more accurate. Our defense also stood up to the test today, with sharp one on one tackling. We kept our composure and executed things well– we know that if we can do this every week we’re a tough team to beat. We play Aylesford Bulls next week which is always competitive game, and we know we have to be on point to get the result we need’.

Sydney Gregson also spoke to us after the game ‘It felt so good to get our second win! We’ve been building throughout the season and things are finally coming together – we all performed really well today. I definitely think there is more to come and we need continue to work hard to ensure we keep up the success and finish the season on a high. It was amazing to get a hat trick, but I have to give credit to my teammates. They all kept the ball well, pushed forward and gained lots of ground – I just had to get the ball over the line!’
