Saracens Preview

Blindside flanker Becky Roby returns to the starting pack and is the only change to Rob Cain’s starting squad following last week’s eight try demolition of reigning Premiership champions Richmond Ladies. Roby will line up alongside Lauren Newman (openside flanker) and previous Player of the Match winner Bryony Cleall (no8). Skipper Sonia Green partners with Marcella Collins in the second row. Rounding off the pack, El Perry starts at loosehead prop with Geri Thomas (hooker) and Karlee Walters (tighthead prop) in the front row.

In the backs, there’s a mix of youth and experience as Rio Olympians Claire Allan and Emily Scott line up on the left wing and full back and are joined by nineteen year old Emma Uren on the right wing.  At centre, veteran Charlotte Barras starts at inside centre teaming up with Nina Vistisen. In the halves, April Brown resumes her partnership with fly half Zoe Harrison.

Speaking ahead of the match, head coach Rob Cain said “Sunday is a great opportunity and challenge to keep building our momentum as a group away from home. The challenge is to stop Worcester’s forward pack and neutralise their threats out wide with the reward of putting points between us and them in the league table. With all the squad’s hard work we are starting to find some consistency with our performances and starting to play how we want to as a team. If we can keep doing the right things at the right time under pressure that will go a long way to get the result we all want this weekend.”
