Amber Reed added a 2014 World Cup winners’ medal to the list of rugby achievements her family have picked up over the years.

Her uncle, Andy, played at lock with Scotland and the British & Irish Lions and such are Amber’s sporting talents that she also played youth cricket for Gloucestershire and hockey for Bristol. Amber, of Bristol Bears, topped a century of career Test points in the 17-13 win over France in the Rugby Super Series in Utah in July 2016.

She played in every match in the 2017 Women’s Six Nations, where England won the Grand Slam, as well as the Women’s Rugby World Cup later that year. She started the final two matches of the 2018 Six Nations and rounded off the Red Roses’ campaign with a try against Ireland. Amber returned to the England fold against the Barbarians in June and won her 50th cap against the USA in this summer’s Super Series. She returned for the 2020 Six Nations and made an instant impact, a deft offload put Emily Scarratt in to clinch the decisive try in France.
