Bristol Ladies secured a home win against Wasps this afternoon seeing them secure 4th place in the league. The full time score was 23 – 17 with four first half tries scored by Devon Holt, Baylee Annis, Sydney Gregson and Claire Molloy. Amber Reed also slotted a 2nd half penalty to seal the bonus point win for Bristol.
The girls dominated first half proceedings, reading the opposition defence well and playing to their strengths.
With Bristol leading 20 – 7 at 50 minutes, Wasps staged a second half comeback, however Bristol remained calm and composed to play out the win.
A raft of 1st XV debuts were made today, as Sadie Giles, Daisy Travers and Becky Belcher all came off the bench and played extremely well.
Speaking to Head Coach LJ Adams after the game, she praised the girls commitment and drive. ‘I’m so pleased with the way we performed today, we played our Bristol style of rugby for the full 80 minutes and got the result we deserved. Our defence was strong, making two hit tackles but still filling the field well, and our attacks were clever and we applied pressure in all the right places. We’re all looking forward to playing Darlington next week. We know they’ll bring their A game, and we’re ready to give them all we’ve got in return, and bring home that win!’
