Hello. Here is my report. Thanks for putting in on your website!

I’m Thea and I play for Bideford RFC U9s. I love rugby and I have been playing since I was in Reception.

This week I went to Sandy Park in Exeter to the 2 day Train like a Chief camp. It was really fun. We worked on lots of skills, for example: agility and speed; spin passing, scrummaging, catching high balls and clearing the ball from the breakdown. We also worked on kicking, which we don’t do in our age group but which was really fun. We worked with a community coach called Annie who used to play rugby at Exeter University. She is good friends with loads of the Red Roses. She inspired me and even if I don’t get to be a professional player, I can look up to her and be a coach.

There were only 7 girls out of 120 kids but with coaches like Annie, there will soon be more. Maybe we can even outnumber the boys one day! Now I can’t wait for the event in Barnstaple in half term…
