As the season draws to an end we lose two teams from Championship 1,  but we also welcome two new teams.

Harrogate will replace Eccles in the North and Old Albanian will replace Abbey Nuns in the South.

This has been my first year covering Tier 2 rugby and it has been challenging but I have to say Abbey Ladies have been fantastic and I will miss them for sure. They have communicated brilliantly and been an active member of the community on social media – I also commend them for the attitude they adopted during the play offs, where they were determined to play as much rugby as they could. Let’s hope it’s not too long before we see them back again.

Meanwhile, Paul Adams – the Team Manager at Old Albanian has been in touch and much like Abbey, – extremely pro-active. He’s sent me over all the club’s details and I already have the beginnings of their team page set up for the 2019-20 season:

So well done Paul!

Old Albanian are keen to see our website continue next season and keen to be a part of it, which is the positive attitude we’re looking for. They have already sent over the info needed to be on our fabulous new ‘Find a club’ Map resource, – Have you?

The website will be winding down now and we will discover during May/June whether we’re going to go for another year next year and if so, what we’re going to be doing. I will be sure to keep everyone posted.

Have a great summer!

Yours in rugby,

Max.
